What is Full-Time Equivalent (FTE)?
Definition and Measurement
Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) is a measurement that represents the workload of an employed person or student in relation to a full-time position.
It is calculated by dividing the number of hours worked in a specific period by the number of hours typically considered full-time for that role or institution.
Example
For example, if a company considers 40 hours per week as full-time, and an employee works 20 hours per week, their FTE would be 0.5.
