O.J. Simpson Dies Without Paying Majority of $335 Million Judgment
Former NFL Star Facing Civil Lawsuit
Unpaid Damages Remain Unresolved
LOS ANGELES (AP) - O.J. Simpson died on Thursday, October 3, 2023, without having paid the majority of the $335 million judgment awarded to the families of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.
Simpson, a former NFL player, was accused of murdering his ex-wife and Goldman in 1994. He was acquitted of criminal charges in a highly publicized trial but was later found liable for their deaths in a civil lawsuit.
The civil jury awarded the families $335 million in damages, but Simpson never paid the full amount. As of his death, he still owed more than $70 million.
The families of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman expressed disappointment that Simpson died without paying the judgment. They said they would continue to pursue legal action to recover the remaining damages that he owes.
